James M. Gray Sr.
Senior Pastor, Administrative Asstant

Pastor James M. Gray Sr. has over 50 years in ministry and has over 30 years as a Retail Operations Counselor and Owner, of a large chain grocery store. While stationed in Germany he established a bible study group that is still active today, and many ministries have been birthed through that study group. It was then he knew that he was called into the ministry and gave his first trial sermon at First Church 921 Talbot Avenue, Braddock, PA in 1970. During his very first revival the first soul that came to the Lord under his ministry was his father, the late George Gray. He has labored as the President of the Evangelism for the COGIC of Western PA First Jurisdiction before accepting the call as Pastor. He currently serves as the Unity District Superintendent, an Administrative Assistant in the First Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction of Western PA and the Assistant Chairman of the Administrative Board for the Jurisdiction. Pastor Gray is anointed and loves to study and preach the word of God. He teaches and preaches to put to love God with all of your heart, mind, body, soul and to put Him first in all that we say and do.

George F. Stewart

He has over 45 years in the ministry. In 1967 he was evangelizing throughout California when he was drafted into the United Sates Armed Services at Fort Sam in Houston, Texas and met then Deacon James Gray. Elder Stewart accepted an invitation to come to Pittsburgh, PA where he met his wife Mary Ann. After marrying Mary Ann they moved to Los Angeles, but a year later moved back to Pittsburgh, PA. Pastor Stewart resumed his call to the field of evangelism and ran revivals in different parts of the United States. Elder George Stewart is anointed in prayer and preaching God’s Word.

Evangelist Anita Gray
Assistant Pastor

She has been in the ministry for over 25 years and is a licensed Evangelist. She brings with her not only years of ministry experience, but worked as an accounting director for more than 15 years for Greater Valley Community Services. She began singing at the age of 5 and has traveled throughout the U.S. and Italy ministering in song and is a recording artist. She served as the Minister of Music for the First Jurisdiction of Western PA for two years and Holy Temple COGIC for almost 10 years. She serves on the S.T.U.F.F. Committee which is a ministry dedicated to Serving Through Unity Fellowship and Faith by uniting the community and the church through various outreach programs. She now serves as one of the Assistant Pastors of Holy Temple, but loves to worship God in song and teaching His word to help set the captive free, heal the sick, encourage and strengthen His people through a committed life to the Lord. "I will bless the Lord at all times: His praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul shall make her boast in the Lord: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad. O magnify the Lord with me , and let us exalt his name together." Psalms 34:1-3

Elder Joseph Henderson
Associate Elder

Elder Joe Henderson accepted the call of ministry in 1997 at Holt Temple C.O.G.I.C in North Braddock, PA. He was ordained by Bishop James Foster in spring of 2001. Elder Joe Henderson loves to serve people, both in the church and the community. Professionally, he has over 15 years as the Program Director of In-Home services at Greater Valley Community Services, Inc. He deals with the needs of children and families and does so from a holistic standpoint while they are during crisis. God has given him patience and understanding. He strongly believes that God is always with him, “lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.(Matthew 28:20)”; guiding, “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.(Psalms 119:105)”; and keeping his people, “him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy.(Jude 1:24)”. And that our God is an active God, “according to thy faith be it unto you”! (Matthew 9:29). In addition to preaching some Sunday mornings he is active in teaching Sunday school and Bible study classes.

Mary Ann Stewart
First Lady, Church Secretary/Deaconess

She accepted Christ at the young age of 8 years old. She married Elder. George Stewart in 1975.and has been a devoted mother and wife. In 1979, she moved back to Pittsburgh with her husband at that time was the inception of Holy Temple. She was there from the church’s inception with only their family and a few friends. She is an active member in the church and had started the Church Foodbank, and Toys for Tots. Recently she started an after-school program which fed kids and educated them for future learning. She currently is on the Mother’s Board and is a dedicated Deaconess.

Elder Robert Henderson
Assistant Pastor, Director of Christian Education

Elder Henderson accepted the call to the ministry in 1974, under the leadership of the late Elder Curtis Goodnight, First Church of God in Christ, Braddock PA. Ordained by the late Bishop Gordon E. Vaughn in 1978, Elder Henderson was the youngest individual ever ordained in the First Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction of Western Pennsylvania at that time. He has pastored, and worked diligently in many State auxiliaries both in Pennsylvania and the Greater Maryland Jurisdiction while under the leadership of the late Bishop Dr. Frank J. Ellis of the Carter Memorial Church of God in Christ in Baltimore Maryland. Mentored by the likes of Bishop Ellis, Bishop O.T. Jones Jr, and his current Pastor, Elder James M. Gray Sr., Elder Henderson is known for his simplistic messages that transcend all barriers of race, gender, and age. His ministry does not promote a message of denominationalism, but Christ crucified, and serves to educate and empower people to live successful, productive, and godly lives utilizing their God given abilities according to II Peter 1:3.

Rita M. Gray
First Lady Evangelist, District Missionary

Evangelist Gray serves as the Chairperson of the Women’s Department. She has worked in the church for over forty-eight years as a choir leader, Sunday School teacher, Nurse, Pastor’s Aide and usher. Evangelist Gray worked with the State Evangelist Department and worked with the International Silver Cord of Pittsburgh, Pa. Minister Wives and Minister Widows. She was a volunteer at the Pittsburgh Blind Association which led to her doing visual screening in the West Mifflin Public Schools for many years. Evangelist Gray serves as the Unity District Missionary under in Western PA First Jurisdiction COGIC. Over the years God has blessed Evangelist Gray to develop a ministry of faith. Her faith is not just what she teaches but a reflection of the life she lives in Christ.

Jacqueline Gray-Wall
Deaconess, Editor Church Newsletter

She accepted Jesus Christ as Savior at the age of 15, believing that life was the preparation for eternity. She accepted positions assigned to work wholeheartedly and diligently as Colossians 3:23-24 says, “And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; 24 Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.” She loves sharing the word of God for it instructs, encourages, directs through life's challenges, and believes in assisting with the leaders to help in ministry. She is the editor of the ministry newsletter.

Elder Bill Cummings
Outreach and Evangelism

A true man of God who has been in the ministry for over 15 years. He functions as the Founder and Director of the Thunder In The Valley Ministries which is a ministry given to Elder Bill to utilize his gift as a prophet: healing the sick and delivering those who are bound. Elder Bill is always ready to answer the call to minister. His goal is to save those who are lost and set those who are bound free by God's mercy and grace through His son Jesus Christ.

Richard Young
Deacon, Director of Multimedia and Publications

Deacon Young began attending Holy Temple in the mid 80's. He has held several positions. He has been an usher, a Trustee and now a Deacon. He Loves the LORD, his church and his Pastors dearly. He believes in working hard for the LORD and his church. Ecclesiastes 9:10 says " Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might: for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest."

Darnetta Young
Evangelist, V. P. Women's Department, Superintendent of Sunday School, Auxiliary Head Nursing Department

She joined Holy Temple by way of salvation in November 1995 and have been busy working for the Lord ever since. She brings years of professional nursing experience to Holy Temple which shows her dedication and commitment to heal the sick and help those who are in need. She has worked in many departments and is still active in several today. She has served in some capacity in Praise & Worship, Young people Bible band, Kitchen committee, Mass Choir, S.T.U.F.F. Committee, Women's Department, Dance Ministry as well as being Secretary and/or treasurer for a few of these departments over the years. She is currently developing the Sunday School and Nursing Departments through the leadership and direction of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. "Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee." Psalms 63:3

Jacqueline Smith
Deaconess, Director of Community Development, Social Services

She has been in the ministry for over 15 years and serves as a Deaconess. Jackie comes to the ministry with a Human Resource and Business Management background. She is the Executive Director of Greater Valley Community Services, a social service agency that is committed to Foster Care and Crisis In-Home. She also manages the Urban Initiative through the National Church of God In Christ. She served in the Children’s ministry as well as the S.T.U.F.F. Committee which is a ministry dedicated to Serving Through Unity Fellowship and Faith by uniting the community and the church through various outreach programs. She loves God and to study His word.

Sandy Cornelius
Music Department choir/Praise and worship Director

She believes in Micah 6:8. "He hath shewed thee, O man what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God." She thanks God for the anointing for she knows that it is the anointing of God that will destroy and break every yoke.

Minister Lamenio Guerrier
Ministry Team

He joined Hoy Temple in 2008 bringing with him an extensive background from Haiti. He attended the State University of Haiti where he studied Law under the school of Law and Economical Sciences. While in Haiti he worked for Care International. When he moved to the United States he attended and completed training at the Police academy of Haiti on the Military Base of Fort Wood, in Missouri. He then attended AA Palm Beach Community College where remained on the Deans list. Minister Lamenio eventually graduated from Point Park University in Pittsburgh, PA with a degree in Liberal Studies and received a diploma from AMES International School of Ministry. He has served as a Sunday School Teacher for the Church of All Nations; serves on the ministerial staff and works diligently in the various departments within Holy Temple. In 2004 Minister Lamenio founded Word and Prayer in Action which he currently presides over today. Ministry is his passion and his focus is to reach the masses.

Mother Jocye Henderson
President, Bible Band

In the Church of God in Christ from her youth the principles of the gospel were installed in her at an early age. She gave her life to the Lord in the early 70's and has been pressing toward the mark of the high calling in Christ ever since. Mother Joyce Henderson is the president of the Young Women’s Christian Counsel (Y. W. C. C.), President of Bible Band and a member of the Deaconess Board. She works in the Sunday school and show her love for the Lord by working in any area she is needed. She believes that we should always "bless that wonderful name of Jesus.”

Deaconess Mosley joined Holy Temple in its earlier stages. She has been saved for over 37 years and has worked diligently and faithfully in the ministry. She has served in the Women's Christian Counsel, usher board, sang in the choir and is currently on the Mother's Board and the President of the Deaconess Board. She always says, "Lord whatever my hands find to do I will do it for your glory." She believes that "those who wait on the Lord shall mount up with wings as an eagle." Isaiah 40:31
